Telecommunication and Network
Services
New Pricing and Financial Model
Summary |
|
On January 1, 2003 a new Pricing
and Financial Model for services received from ITS-Telecommunication and
Network Services will go into effect. There are 3 basic steps to the
changes:
-
Changing the prices of services to eliminate cross-subsidies between
services. The new prices more accurately match the actual cost to
deliver each service.
-
Simplifying billing for services and eliminating many charges
-
Converting the General Education and Research funded (Funds 050, 500,
510 & 520) voice services to a more centrally funded financial model,
substantially similar to the data services financial model already in
place. This means that for GEF and Research funded voice and data
services, users will pay an installation charge but will not pay a
recurring monthly charge for basic services provided by ITS-TNS.
Highlights of Changes
Voice Services
- The cost of domestic long
distance calls will be reduced to 5 cents per minute flat rate.

wanted. The cost to

Conversion of GEF and

model: Users pay an installation charge but do not pay a recurring
monthly charge for basic services provided by ITS-TNS.
