Press

automatically.
LABELING
SPEED DIAL BUTTONS
-
Speed dial buttons may be labeled by
removing the clear plastic keycap (by
pulling straight up). Place the label on
the key and replace keycap. Labels are
included with new phones, or are available
by contacting ITS/TNS.
Helpful
hints: If you are having trouble removing the
key caps from the speed dial buttons, we have
found that a standard “claw” type staple remover
works quite well.
CALL LOG
Incoming call information will be stored in
the call log feature of your phone, to a maximum
of 100 records. Your display will indicate how
many new calls as well as how many total calls
are stored.
· Viewing
the Call Log:
Press
the
“↑”
or “↓” scrolling keys
· Deleting
Call Log entries:
Display the entry you wish to delete, press the
“Delete” key once and you will be prompted with
“Delete?”. If you press the “Delete” a second
time it will be erased from the log.

“Delete All?”. If you press the “Delete” a
second time ALL call log entries will be erased from the log.
· Dialing
from Call Log entries:
Display the entry you wish to dial from, and
note the format of the entry. If it is
displayed as it should be dialed, simply press
Dial. If it is not (for example you need to
insert a 9 and/or remove the area code), you may
activate the edit mode by pressing a digit on
the keypad. Then using the Delete button,
remove any unneeded digits and/or add any using
the key pad. When the entry is displayed as it
should be, then press Dial.
Note:
When
your call log reaches the maximum of 100
entries, subsequent entries will overwrite the
oldest record.
VOICE MAIL
If you have
voice mail programmed on your phone, the red
oval VoiceMail button will serve two purposes.
First, the light will illuminate and flash for
new messages. Second, you may press the button
to call into voice mail to retrieve messages or
access other voice mail functions.
DATA JACK
Allows you to
use your line for "dial-up" modems.
TROUBLESHOOTING
· Problem:
No dial tone. Are
all cords plugged in tight? Is line cord plugged
into correct portion of jack? Unplug line cord
from back of telephone and plug it back in; this
acts as a reset.
· Problem:
Telephone doesn't ring. Is
ringer turned up? Is "call forwarding all
calls" (CFA) set?
· Problem:
Speed dials not working.
Try
reprogramming buttons to see if you may have
lost memory for some reason.
· Problem:
No light or music when call placed on hold.
This telephone has two settings for Hold:
“System” or “Line”. By default, the phone will
be set to “System” hold. If this switch,
located on the bottom of the phone, is set to
the “Line” position, the Hold LED will not
function, and the caller will not hear music
while on hold.
PROGRAMMED
DEFAULTS
The following
are programming options and their default
settings. These settings are the recommended
choices for use with the University of Iowa
telephone system.
§ The
Message Waiting Indicator will be set to LED.
This makes the light flash, making it more
visible.
§
The HOLD
button is programmed to SYSTEM hold. This
enables music on hold functionality.
§ Access
number set to 9
§ Area
code set to 319
§ Flash
time set to 600ms (changing this is not
recommended)
§ Pause
time set to 3.6s
§
Voice mail
button programmed for 51000
§ Live
dial pad set to OFF (this feature may be enabled
by customer preference without adverse
affects)
SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING CALLER ID
Caller ID information will
appear in your display AFTER the phone has rung
a complete ring. It is also possible that if
you answer too quickly you will hear a brief
“modem-like” tone as the Caller ID data is
delivered. For both of these reasons, we
recommend that you wait to see the call
information in your display before answering the
phone.
