Introduction

This website provides information about streaming video services supported by ITS and various campus partners.  If you'd like an introduction to streaming video, go to the Streaming Video Terms and Explanations page. The Video On Demand page explains the steps in the process from video creation to delivery through the streaming server, including obtaining space on the server and costs. Likewise for Webcasting. The Assistance for Viewers page has example videos, plus information on obtaining video players.

The streaming of video and audio programs can be requested by any University faculty, staff, or organization for viewing by the general public or specific groups, like a class. The service includes both Video-On-Demand and Webcasting capabilities. Supported formats include:

  • MPEG
  • MP3
  • QuickTime (version 6)
  • Windows Media (version 8)

ITS Video Services supports the streaming server application, with additional groups around campus assisting with the preparation of programs for streaming. Some of these groups also manage their own disk space allocation on the streaming server. Contact your collegiate or departmental IT support staff. Or, contact a member of the:
