Voice/Telephone   Voice / Telephone Telecommunication and Network Services provides telephone service throughout The University of Iowa's main and Oakdale campuses,  Residence Services, and University Apartments. We also integrate with the Public Switched Telephone Network to make services available to off-campus locations. (A third-party call is a call made from one telephone but billed to a telephone number other than the called number.) All University telephone numbers are automatically blocked from receiving incoming collect calls. (Calls placed through an operator and billed to the telephone number called). These types of calls are allowed by exception only. If your department has a need to receive such calls, the restriction can be lifted by contacting Telecommunication & Network Services at 335-2945.  The phone system allows outgoing collect or third party calls billed to phones that are not on the University telephone system.
